Part one of the course, “Lift Director,” addresses the responsibilities of a Lift Director as identified by 29CFR1926.1400 (Federal OSHA), ASME P30.1 Lift Planning and ASME B30.5 Mobile and Locomotive Cranes. Participants are provided an outline of recommended knowledge and skill subjects that should be mastered in order to become a competent Lift Director.

Part two of the course, “Critical Lift Planning,” focuses on the process of assessing risks, the compilation of crane and rigging data, crane-operating areas, rigging methods, a safety checklist, personnel competencies and assignments, a proposed sequence of events, contingency plans and other category items as recommended by ASME P30.1 Lift Planning.

Both portions of the course will be taught inside Lifting Gear Hire’s very own rental center in Bridgeview, IL where students will have access to LGH’s 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art rental center which provides ample room for ITI classes of varying sizes. Students also get to observe the behind the scenes processes of testing, inspecting, and certifying equipment. The course is LEEA Accredited and lunch will be served daily to all students.

LGH and ITI partnered together in 2015 because both companies understand the very real world challenges that riggers face every day and to stress the importance of testing and using quality equipment to ensure a safe and successful project every time. Collectively, LGH and ITI’s mission is to educate riggers on and expose them to the world’s safest equipment to better prepare them today for the rigging challenges of tomorrow.
