LGH and ITI Announce Recipient of the 2016 LGH Rigging Scholarship

LGH and Industrial Training International (ITI) proudly announced the first recipient of the LGH rigging scholarship, created to advance education, safety, and professional development within the global lifting and rigging industry.

Valued at up to $12,000, the scholarship allows the winner to complete ITI’s Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering Program, an ASME-approved and LEEA-accredited course for lifting professionals.

The inaugural LGH rigging scholarship attracted 185 applicants from 19 countries, including professionals in construction, energy, manufacturing, mining, and transportation. Applicants were evaluated based on their essays detailing current roles, career goals, and what they hoped to gain from the program.

“So many applicants wanted to take this program not only for their own benefit, but for the benefit of their companies,” said Christina Lanham, Director of Operations at ITI. “We’re proud to partner with LGH to support growth across the rigging community.”

The scholarship board also recognized ten exceptional finalists for their dedication to safety and advancement in the rigging field.

Rigging Scholarship WinnerRyan Murphy of Alltec was named the first recipient of the LGH rigging scholarship, earning recognition for his outstanding commitment to professional growth.

“The LGH rigging scholarship is designed to build a safer, smarter industry,” said Patrick Clark, LGH National Rental Support Manager. “Everyone at LGH wishes to congratulations Ryan Murphy of Altec. We would also like to thank the many others that took time to consider and craft essays for consideration of this scholarship.
