LGH Supports the Rail Industry with Hydra-Slide Jack and Slide System
Bridgeview, IL — As railways expand to handle increasing freight demands, the need for efficient railroad maintenance equipment continues to grow. LGH is proud to support the rail industry with the Hydra-Slide jack and slide system, an advanced skidding system that helps move heavy loads safely, precisely, and efficiently.
Designed for railway maintenance, railroad bridge maintenance, and large-scale railway construction projects, the Hydra-Slide system allows operators to move extremely heavy items such as transformers, bridge components, and construction machinery with accuracy and control. The system is ideal for transferring loads from rail cars to trucks or directly to the job site, improving safety and minimizing downtime.
The Hydra-Slide HT500 jack and slide system includes 50 feet of double track, each eight inches high, along with four skid shoes. Track sections are available in 10- and 15-foot lengths and interconnect with simple pin connections for quick setup and tear-down. Its ratchet-track design allows continuous movement and automatic cylinder reset, enabling loads to move smoothly in either direction by repositioning the push cylinders. Each beam section weighs approximately 190 pounds per foot and supports up to 500 tons.
For rail operators, contractors, and maintenance teams who occasionally need to move heavy loads, renting the Hydra-Slide skidding system from LGH offers a cost-effective and reliable alternative to purchasing. Renting allows teams to access industry-leading railway maintenance equipment without the burden of ownership, storage, or certification costs.
